sunset sessions

"l'été abstrait" is the answer for the north of germany´s to the balearic chillout culture. since 2001, the chillout sessions are the summer variations of "le café abstrait". don’t mind your passport, tickets and luggage: this time the only thing you will travel with is yourself. set out to discover a place that seems to be far away, a place that seems to be a part of the summer, an answer to your dreams. “l'été abstrait” turns it into magic.

simply make yourself comfortable in one of the many lounge chairs, enjoy the sea gulls singing their songs, the whispering of the ocean, feel the warm wind and listen raphaël marionneau’s unique set. while the sun slowly goes down, providing space for the glittering stars, you will see that it is not just a place in germany you are at, but moreover a place of harmony, somewhere on this planet.

from the club to the beach

for the first event inside and outside the mojo club, at reeperbahn 1, abstrait invited in summer 2001, dj m.o.c pauli (bambuddha grove, ibiza). highlight of the month by the local press, this event has been one of the most successful abstrait events at mojo club with more than 700 guests during a warm night in august. in summer 2002, raphaël received dj ravin (buddha bar, paris) for the second session.

in summer 2003, "l'été abstrait moved during three evenings in july, august and september at the 2nd german sand sculpture festival sandworld in lübeck-travemünde. the visitors enjoyed for the first time the couch-culture in open air: the venue has been transformed into a relaxing place with long chair, summer lounge, listening raphaël´s chill-out set, watching the sand sculptures, enjoying the sea, the sunset, ferry-boats leaving the port and the summer´s warm wind. with more than 1.000 visitors during each sunset session, "l‘été abstrait" has been a great success with an unforgetable atmosphere and a summer highlight.

during 5 years and until summer 2007, "l'été abstrait" has been in residency at the sandworld festival in travemünde.
