born in nantes in france, raphaël marionneau moved to hamburg in 1993 and created the event "le café abstrait" at the mojo club in october 1996 where he has been
the resident dj. his club etablished itself as the most successful chillout club in germany. raphaël marionneau’s personnal style of music - a mix of ambient, chillout, downtempo, trip-hop, ibiza sounds, oriental and classical music - became a name called
the "french chillout".

in june 2001, raphaël marionneau launched "le classique abstrait" at mojo club and became a great feedback by the audience. from 2002 to 2006, raphaël performed his event concept at the konzerthaus dortmund. he performes too the multimedia performance "le voyage abstrait" since october 2003 at the planetarium of hamburg. during four years, the french soundpilot was resident at the sandworld festival in travemünde with the summer event "l'été abstrait"

following the success of his events, raphaël marionneau founded in 2002, his own label "abstrait music" and releases different series of compilations that became a great feedback in germany. since many years, raphaël presents his own abstrait radio show on n-joy.de. the past years, raphaël marionneau developped new concepts: "phil&chill" at the musikhalle in cooperation with the hamburger philharmoniker where he is resident since four years, "le cinéma abstrait" or the web tv "abstrait véo".

raphaël, considered as a leading chillout dj and one of the most innovative artists in germany, is regularly booked for many events and festivals in germany and became an high acclaimed renown in the international club scene with his abstrait concept.
